Durham Tees Valley Airport parking
Book your airport parking in advance and save yourself from the stress of finding a space, the expense that comes with drive up prices and the feeling that you’re having to race against the clock to make your flight.
On-airport parking
As one of the UK’s smaller airports, Durham Tees Valley Airport offers only a handful of flights each day – meaning there’s no need for a big car park.
That’s great news if convenience is high on your priority list – it’s so compact that there’s no need for a shuttle service. The terminal is a very short stroll away.
If you have access requirements, there is a row of dedicated disabled parking bays at the very front of the car park.
Long-stay parking options
Book your space in advance at Durham Tees Valley Airport’s long-stay car park and you’ll get more bang for your buck. Otherwise, if you turn up on the day you’ll have to pay drive up prices, which will always cost you a lot more. The trip to the terminal is short and sweet, too.
Off-airport parking
If you’re inclined to leave your car in town, rather than at the airport, make sure you choose the right one.
Darlington and Middlesbrough are both closer destinations than Durham, which, despite lending its name to the airport, is actually 22 miles (35km) to the north.
And while it’s a wonderful city to visit, it’s not the best place to park for the airport. Doing so will result in an expensive taxi transfer in both directions.
Closer off-airport parking is difficult to come by, although you can book your car into a space at the nearby Durham Tees Hotel, close to the airport.
Car park security at Durham Tees Valley Airport
Any fears about parking at Durham Tees Valley Airport should be eased by the long-stay car park’s “Park Mark” accreditation, which is awarded to car parks that have top security measures in place.
Cars are monitored around the clock to keep them safe – and since all drivers keep hold of their keys, there’s no danger of anyone taking your car out for a spin.
